Day 3 - Basement WALLS - check!

I was able to get the completed footers picture this morning!  YES!
Workers began laying out their supplies first thing this morning.

Apparently, these are used for the basement walls - not sure how they work!  :-(

Look closely to right hand side corner waaayy in the back you can see the guy working on the top corner of the morning room!

Walk out Basement Morning Room
Double Patio Doors will be located on this wall

These guys are creating the window frames for the basement windows.  We are having two large windows installed to capture the view of the pond and to create extra inside lightening.

Check out the dude getting his swag on!  lol

Front Porch Footers in front of the Basement walls!

Sump Pump drainage hole - look closely near the orange spot

These basement walls look like the Mayan Ruins!!

Cement truck on its way in to pour!

Basement Walls Are Complete

I love this picture!  I managed to get a telephoto close up of the basement walls.  I wanted to capture the sunlight between the walls.  This wall was formed to create two large basement windows.

The workers left some of their supplies behind!

Day 2 - Footers Complete

I was so happy to see these numbers
Our address is official!  Yay!
My new friend from Guatemala!
He showed me a copy of the prints he was working from for the footers!
SO COOL!

Still working on the Footers--The Footers/Cement Guy said "he will be back to complete them today around 2:30 pm.
They are ON it!

These guys were waiting for the cement truck!
Cement Truck Arrived at 2:45 pm - Just in time for me to catch the action before class!
They are ready to ROCK n ROLL!

This strange tubing looks like a snake -- it will be used to support the sump pump!

I was stunned when I saw this--CAUTION KEEP OUT!!

They had to use this machine because there wasn't enough room to maneuver the cement truck on the lot so this guy served as the source to fill the footers.

The two cement trucks ready to work as a TEAM!

Getting ready for the basement walls!

I had class tonight so I could not get a picture of the final footers project.  I hope to grab a picture of the finished footers before they install the basement walls. I did get the opportunity to see it but it was too dark to take a picture.

LOT #28 I AM DIGGIN ON YOU!!!!!! - Day 1

TODAY  IT  HAPPENED!!!
FINALLY!!!
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2012
THANK  YOU  GOD!
As some people mentioned, let the rain stop so the digging can begin and the weather report shifted!  And look what we found today doing our daily drive by!  God is GOOD!!
Walking Towards the Lot

Standing closer to the garage, I looked down and saw these
MEN AT WORK!

The house is now sitting five feet further back!
Check out the pond view!

We already had somewhat of a HOLE so they didn't need to do much digging!
 They went straight to WORK!

The guy on the inside is measuring our FRONT PORCH!!
HOLLA!

Another View of the Front Porch!

Rick sharing the five feet difference!  It made our backyard prruurrtty small!
This means I get to create a lovely oasis in the back of the house.  We opted out of the deck until settlement!  This will allow me to determine the layout of the deck and patio integration.

The 60/40 sink made it to the change order!!
Thanks Michael !!

a LOT delayed!!!!

I posted several days ago that we finally made it to the schedule for our pre construction meeting on Wednesday, September 26 and scheduled to break ground TODAY, Tuesday, October 1.  Finally, right!?

Well, mother nature has another plan, we will not be breaking ground today or tomorrow because it will be raining both days with a 60% chance of rain each day.  Two Lots (52 & 28) were breaking ground this week which is out of the norm, because we only had one PM to handle the building load.  We now have an additional PM which allows for our PM to manage breaking ground on two homes per week.  LOT #52 was scheduled yesterday and did not break ground and as I mentioned we were scheduled today!  Considering all goes well, we will break ground on Thursday or Friday of this week.

So what do we do...WE WAIT--AGAIN!!

On another note:   During our pre construction meeting with our PM, we made a few discoveries that have been addressed with the exception of one.  I asked our PM about it but he wasn't aware of the sink I described.  I explained that I thought we were getting the upgraded sink with the 60/40 split because we ordered the upgraded faucet.  It turns out that this was never explained to me in detail so I referred to the selection sheet yesterday and discovered under countertops:  upgrade sink #1 and sink #2 for the same price of $450.  I have no idea what they are or look like; however, I am clear that I wanted the 60/40 sink.  I emailed our original SR and she replied that it was an option and we had time to look over the MSS to select this option and since we did not, we cannot add any other options at this point.  I am NOT happy about this because I know I brought it up in our meetings, but we had so much going on that it became an oversight along with the other discoveries during our pre construction meeting such as the color of our granite countertop, the placement of our double patio doors in the basement and the soap and towel bars in the bathrooms.  So I sent another email requesting for the sink to be added to the last change order that we are still waiting for with the other missing items we discovered.  I have not heard anything as of this moment; but I am certainly hoping it can be done because I cannot imagine not having the sink I want in my dream kitchen that I spent time creating over the past several months.
