ROME....DO OR DIE!!!

*in my Brooklyn voice*  Okay, Blog Land Family, I have been holding down the fort with patience, humility, faith, understanding, vulnerability, trust, courage amongst a few other attributes that I have not included on this list.  With that being said, we are at a crossroads with RH!  NVR must make a decision this week, and I mean this week on our loan approval or RH will not hold our contract much longer.  There are only three more working days left in this month.  They will not provide any more grace to the underwriters past this Friday, June 29, 2012.  Continue to hold us in your prayers--it has been a long journey since last year when I started researching the builders around the neighborhood looking for a house to call home.  We signed our purchase agreement on February 9, 2012 and sat with the loan officer on February 13, 2012, to sign our official contract.  Quick sidebar.....AND, we celebrated Valentine's day on February 14,  my birthday on February 22 and our 12th Anniversary February 28.  As you can see, we tend to celebrate a lot in February.  Anyway, we met with all the contractors (CTI, Guardian, M&R Floors for our selections/upgrades, submitted some customizations and we are ready to move forward!  My husband and I do have confidence that the order in which this process has played out was significant to our growth as a married couple.  We are also confident that we will build this home on Lot #28.  Stay tuned........Will the ROME......DO or DIE!?

    1. Every year I seem to focus on different attributes and as you can see...PATIENCE is the winner!

  3. That is ridiculous. I have never seen a loan company operate like NVR. We had nothing but problems with them. After finally getting through underwriting with them, they are now asking for everything all over again. I hope everything works out for you.

    1. No way, Maria! seriously!! I told my husband everything will stay in a paper file and on a thumb drive just in case they ask for more documentation.

    2. As a matter of fact, they are asking for even more. They just needed to verify my husband's employment for underwriting. Now they are asking to speak to his supervisor and wanted something in writing from his supervisor regarding overtime in writing. His supervisor told the NVR processor that he could not put anything in writing and that she would have to speak with the HR (who she had originally spoke with during the underwriting process). We were originally told that we were not being qualified based on overtime in the beginning, because my husband never did overtime. He just started about 2 months ago! I'm so sick of NVR at this point. If you have a Navy Federal Credit Union account or you can get one through a family member, they have a no money down, no PMI program that RH will honor and give closing help towards, because they do not offer a program like that. We are trying to get a loan with them, but I do not think it will go through, because we are keeping our current house as a rental and we cannot prove that we have landlord experience.

  6. Good luck! It took over 6 weeks for us to get out of underwriting. It was terrible but 90% of Ryan home buyers get approved (according to the website...) so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys!
