Corian Counter Tops

There has been some talk around the ecommunity/town about having or not having the options to choose Corian Kitchen Counter Tops.  As we know, region to region, community to community have different standards and offer different products.  Frankly, I do not understand why the offerings are not universal.  We started our selection process in January/February and corian counter tops were an option; however, my personal choice has always been to use granite especially with the theme I have chosen to decorate my home; however, I did some months later ask about the counter tops as an option for the bathrooms and I was curious about the difference in price.  I checked with our SR the day after they chose to discontinue them; however, I forgot I had the price sheet with my files and checked the price and found that the price difference was minimal in comparsion. Once I found this out, it confirmed my original choice to have granite throughout the entire home.  A fellow blogger, Julie was asking about them after seeing them installed in a Rome in our community, so I decided to stop by and take theses pictures.  If anyone is definitely interested in having Corian tops, just remember you can always put in a non standard request with your Sales Representative.

Corian Counter Tops.  They are typically offered in two levels.
Again, this is subject to change based on your region

  1. Corian is an option in our community, but there is only one level available.

  4. Nadase they stopped offering the Corian here in Fairwood literally about a month or so after I changed my choice to the Tumbleweed. They said not enough requests for it had the region get rid of it as an option. I am always surprised by what's offered where, I forget who it was that had the textured ceilings as a standard...weird to me that a builder would still offer that. Nonetheless its a "popularity" contest with the options.

    1. Right, Asia! Our SR told me they were discontinued and you were the only person who had requested them recently. I came to the office the day after you submitted your change in color. I was checking to see if I wanted to use them in the bathrooms but the price difference didn't make sense to me so I stuck with granite I thought they may be less expensive . I was just exploring my options but stuck to my instinct to keep my granite which is what I really wanted.

  5. I would'a thought Quartz would be available. I went default cultured marble in the bathrooms and Luna Pearl granite in the kitchen. When I get my bearings, I'd consider changing the bathrooms to Corian. The colors on the DuPont site are remarkable. I'll probably never change the kitchen though, love the Luna Pearl, but if we did, it would probably be quartz.

    1. A lot of people are doing the quartz which is gorgeous! And even the other colors of granite I have seen in other stores are fabulous too! It's ashame they do not offer more colors of granite and they have a different set of colors for both bathroom and kitchen. My interest was choosing the best combination now. I love the colors choices we have and look forward to decorating each room!

  6. Thanks for sharing, I like those Corian colors a lot! We declined the granite bathroom counters b/c I didn't think any of the 4 colors they had available coordinated with our tile surround. Maybe I will see if we can do a non-standard for the Corian.

  7. I really did not like the granite colors for the bathroom! Four colors are not a lot to choose from so I switched out my original choice to a major contrast that will suit us. Do you still have time to submit your non standards? They usually have a window or you must pay a fee to make the change.
