    1. Thank you M! How come you don't get sod? It must be because of the temperature. What temperature must your region be at to get the sod? We were told that we may not get sod depending on the weather but we have had some decent temperatures lately so we lucked up with our landscaping. I hope the weather stays warmer so we can get the outside and front door painted before closing; otherwise, we will have to wait. According to our PM, we are on the schedule for painting next Wednesday/Thursday. Fingers crossed because I would love for the outside of the house to be painted before closing.

    2. Not all areas get sod. We settled in April, but our neighborhood in Baltimore County only got seed front and back, no sod whatsoever. The seed never took, so we still don't have grass. Your house is looking gorgeous, though! You're in the home stretch now. I am so jealous of your porch!!

    3. Hi Esquire-ran, that's right! You just reminded me of that--I do remember so builders providing landscaping and others do not! It still amazes me that Ryan Homes is a universal builder and the process is so different from state to state and even county to county within the same state. Thank you for the compliment! We are very excited.

    4. I'm not sure why, but we don't get the option of sod at all. It would be nice if they'd at least sod the front yard... but the only house that's gotten sod is the model. We will get grass seed all the way around the house. The PM said that they lay the bare minimum in winter so it might not take and if that happens they'll be back in the Spring to re-seed.

Our PM had been worried about not getting our exterior stuff painted too so he took advantage of the nice weather last week and had them paint our outside trim. We just have one more window accent to get painted and the front door. Good luck getting your stuff painted!

  2. Congrats!! The house looks great! ... I am also jealous of your lawn and landscaping. Living in ny we also have no option to get sod or a landscaping package. Just seed and they won't lay the seed until next august!!!... So my poor dog will be full of mud for a while!
