Day 14 - WOODEN ya know.....

WE  GOT  WOOD  TODAY!
 YAY!   WHOO HOOO!    YES!    HOLLA!
THANK YOU GOD!

When I first drove into the community this was the first thing I saw but it was waaayyy from our site and I thought is that our WOOD or LOT #33???  I drove up slowly checked out the number and YES!!  BINGO!  It's our WOOD!  WOW!  It's finally here--we will soon have a house that belongs to us!!  AND look at that beautiful sky.  No matter what time of day I visit the community the sky is so compelling that you are forced to look up and enjoy the view.

This WOOD belongs to:    LOT #28 (Rick & Nadase)

As you can see there is very little WOOD on our LOT--So they  had to scatter it around in the cul-de-sac!

Alright, Alright, what does this say?  You got it--LOT #28!
This was so awesome riding up to the LOT and seeing WOOD marked with our lot number.

As the house RISES we will have some great views of the pond from the morning, living and dining room!  I can't wait to see how pretty it's going to look!  There will also be a great view from the basement with the two large windows.  The back door will have double patio doors.  Later we will have a patio built that may include a water cascade, fire pit, beautiful foliage etc to look at instead of the back fence.
Views of finished basement.
Hole is prepped for the sump pump

I am standing in the middle of the garage and if you look closely you can see the (3) different piles of WOOD!

I thought this was pretty cool--all the wood is labeled.  This is a stack of wood that has pieces labeled 1 of 19, 11 of 19, 10 of 19  etc etc.  Apparently, RH has a pre-fabricated system for each home and it shows up to the LOT ready to go which supports installing the frame in less time which is why you hear so many people talking about how quick the house went up once the framing begins.  Our PM arrived on the scene while I was talking to our soon-to-be-neighor(Lolita) and shared that he had the blueprints for our home which reflects any customizations such as the front porch.  YES!

You can see Sheldon and Lolita's house in the background.
The first ROME to be built in our cul-de-sac!

Pieces of WOOD that could be used for blocking

The beam supports and a closer view of all (3) stacks of OUR WOOD!
WOO HOO!!

  3. It rained huge last night... see if you notice any pooling on your basement floor. Hopefully it's all level.

    1. Tiffany, we were lucky enough that the placement of the house allowed the pond view! We decided to put two large windows in the basement to catch that view because it's so pretty. I am looking forward to enjoying it.

  5. Woo-hoo! That's great! Did the big beams arrive at the same time as the wood? We have the beams, but no wood yet. Of course, it didn't occur to me until after I left that they might have housed it elsewhere...I know it wasn't anywhere in our cul-de-sac, though. :)
